Giant Petrel in Stormy Seas
A Southern Giant Petrel (Macronectes giganteus) is skimming across the sea, wingtip trailing in the water as snow falls. No matter what the weather, these birds are at sea 24/7, seemingly perfectly at home in Southern Ocean storms with their huge seas and hurricane force winds.
