A Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua) en-route from the sea to its breeding colony on Cuverville Island. It is early in the breeding season and so the snow is still mostly pristine white while the penguins and the breeding colony itself are becoming filthy with mud and penguin droppings.
